Behind every old striped sweater, every flowery plate, or every book with slightly yellowed pages, there's a second life being invented... and a little piece of the planet being saved. So, prepare your eagle eye and your adventurous heart: we're taking you to 4 local recycling centers where the word "treasure" takes on a whole new meaning.
The Recycl'éco workshop
Brand new, the Recycl'éco workshop is already establishing itself as the HQ for objects given new life. Here, Caro, a seamstress with precise scissors, restores damaged clothing to its former glory, while Will, a jack-of-all-trades handyman, restores stereos, computers, and small appliances that seemed doomed.
Each item entrusted is repaired, pampered, and then put back into circulation, thus avoiding an early detour to the dump. And the story is only just beginning: the duo plans to open part of the workshop to activities accessible to all budgets: manga drawing, sewing, blacksmithing, percussion… Enough to transform this recycling center into a true creative hub for friends.
The Ringarderie
Welcome to La Ringarderie: your anti-nerd, 100% recycled and friendly hideout in the heart of Aubenas. In this former industrial wasteland nestled in the Oliviers district, you'll find a DIY materials library, a shared workshop, an anti-waste cannery, a shared kitchen, coffee nooks, tools, creations... and a joyful collective that invites you to share, create, act, and change things differently.
You join (at a free price, of course), you hunt for bargains, you tinker, you taste, you meet people and above all, you become an actor in a solidarity and ecological project which has already attracted more than 1 members and around thirty volunteers.
Sam'Sap
At Sam'Sap, fashion doesn't rhyme with waste, but with renewal and sharing. Since 1999, this nonprofit has been transforming thrift stores into a supportive living space: you'll find carefully sorted clothing at affordable prices, a sewing space to try your hand at transformations and alterations, and party outfit rentals, all in a friendly and committed atmosphere.
You can make a donation, find a unique piece or bring your own sewing project to life in the workshop: everything is designed to combat waste, create connections and support local employment.
Change of direction
A resource center that does much more than rescue pretty second-hand clothes, furniture, and books: at Changement de Cap, we transform your donations into beautiful, sustainable stories. This local branch of the Esprits Libres association welcomes you to hunt for bargains and give objects a second life, while supporting a perfectly local, circular and solidarity economy.
In addition, since 2019, the association has been supporting "companions" (people in difficulty): reception, housing, administrative support, and integration are all part of the program. The center thrives thanks to a team of volunteers, employees, civic service volunteers… but above all, thanks to you: your active participation, your donations, your curious perspective keep the project running, with complete financial independence and without subsidies.
