Here, the department is non-reciprocal : in other words, even if you already have a valid fishing license elsewhere, you'll need to get a specific one to fish in the Ardèche . A formality, admittedly, but one you'd be better off knowing before you find yourself discussing regulations with a brown trout. Good news: you can easily buy it online or at one of the many local outlets, and with it, you can also fish in the Rhône (on the Ardèche side of the river)!
