The series, whose title comes from the local dialect, refers to the inhabitants of the Ardèche mountains. It comprises four films that gather authentic and moving testimonies about life in this mountainous region in bygone days. This second installment highlights a generation shaped by an omnipresent religious organization, where certain educational abuses within schools were not uncommon. This period also marks a growing disconnect between the Occitan dialect and the mountain landscape. But the film also reveals brighter aspects: the arrival of the automobile, the first journeys, and the gradual opening up to new horizons. Through autumnal images and period narratives, "Youth" offers a true journey through time. The viewer is invited to observe the evolution of customs and mentalities, while rediscovering the living soul of the Ardèche mountains.
