Parcours pêche sans tuer : L'Ardèche amont
This approximately 15-kilometer course, located in a pleasant landscaped setting, boasts a population of wild brown trout of respectable sizes. Catches of 35 to 40 cm and beyond are common.
From the Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas bridge downstream to the Vals-les-Bains bridge upstream, Rainbow trout releases are frequently carried out along the entire 2nd category rational route.
This large (10-20m) lowland river consists of a series of long, flat sections interspersed with currents and pools. All fishing spots are accessible from the bank. The mild climate makes it an ideal spot for early season fishing. All fishing techniques are permitted on the designated "All Techniques" stretch: lure fishing, bait fishing, and of course, fly fishing (nymphing).
and dry). The harvesting of salmonids is authorized in the number of 3 maximum per day and per fisherman (mesh size at 23 cm). PLEASE NOTE, brown trout is no-kill.
One of the special features of the reasoned course, apart from the trout that can reach record sizes, is that when fishing with natural bait or nymphs you are not safe from being surprised by a fish that will potentially bend your rod, the Barbel. Present in the first and second categories, this whitewater fish can quickly reach more than 40cm and is surely, along with the chub, one of the most combative cyprinids.
