No need for a car to enjoy it! Whether you arrive by train, bus, or on foot, you can experience a 100% Ardèche stay. Activities accessible by bus, well-connected accommodation, local carpooling, hitchhiking, cycling... We'll help you plan your adventure without traffic jams or driving.
The local bus network
In the Aubenas-Vals region, the local Tout'enbus network allows you to easily travel between the surrounding towns (even on Sundays in summer !). To go a little further south, or climb into the mountains, regional bus lines take over.

Other questions ?
Can I take my bike on the buses?
- On the lines X73 (Valence) and X74 (Montélimar) is possible if there are still seats available. To avoid any problems, we advise you to book at least 48 hours in advance with the transport provider. (Contact details can be found in the "Practical Information" section for each route.)
- On the lines E13 (Alès) and E15 (Avignon), it is possible only during the summer holidays, and by booking at least 48 hours in advance at +04 80 00 70 00 (the number of bicycles on board is limited)
- On the local Tout'enbus network, it's a resounding yes, with however a few small conditions.
How does it work for disabled travelers?
- The bus lines and the local bus network are accessible to people with reduced mobility. On some of them, the accompanying person can even travel for free! To properly prepare for your trip, get information on the accessibility of stops, and reserve your adapted seat on the bus (48 hours in advance), just call 04 80 00 70 00.
- To make travel easier for people with mental disabilities, there is a travel diary. FALC. to download here.
Can I take my dog on the bus?
Coaches and buses don't allow dogs (or iguanas), even the cutest ones. It's not against them, it's just the rules of a tidy and pleasant journey for everyone (including the driver who vacuums the bus every evening).
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions. We'll do everything we can to quickly find the information you need and make your holiday as easy as possible.

Our other (very) good car-free plans
Carpooling with a local twist
Want to share your adventures with a co-pilot?
Yes, it's true, there's BlaBlaCar . But here, we also have MOV'ICI: the local carpooling platform with no commission, perfect for short trips. Bonus: you can create carpooling sessions dedicated to specific events (festivals, concerts, etc.). Drivers, passengers: in just a few clicks, you can find each other.
All in the saddle!
If you haven't thought about it yet, now's the time to do it: the secret Ardèche by bike is simply sublime! Whether you're the type to tackle the passes in the early morning, or to take it easy on a greenway, you'll find what you're looking for, without limits. So yes, it's a bit of a climb in places, and you'll probably come home with a nice tan and pretty little calves: what more could you ask for?
Hitchhiking: it works (still)!
It's no myth: in Ardèche, giving a thumbs-up works. We're not promising that the first car will stop... but here, people still have the reflex to help each other. A backpack, a smile, and hey presto, you're on the C15, off on your adventure. It's slow travel, thumbs-up version.
And taxis in case of unforeseen circumstances!
Your carbon footprint
Still undecided about whether or not to take your car? We'll help motivate you: below, a little tool that will help you measure how much good you can do for squirrels...
