Les terrasses
The “faisses” or terraces, vestiges of the agricultural activity of yesteryear. “Terrace” comes from the old French terrace “mud, cob”. To be seen from afar, not visitable.
A cultivation terrace is a horizontal surface built on sloping land to facilitate the flow of runoff water and its infiltration into the soil, to combat erosion and allow the cultivation of the land. We speak of a “culture terrace” or “agricultural terrace”.
