La Coupe d'Aizac
The Coupe d'Aizac is a Strombolian volcano classified as a major site within the Ardèche Young Volcanoes Region. Its basalt flow followed the course of the Volane River to the outskirts of Vals-les-Bains, shaping majestic landscapes.
This Strombolian volcano has a near-perfect shape. Its cross-section is approximately 500 meters in diameter.
An interpretive trail around the cut will allow you to discover the volcano by observing the rocks along the way (topographic guide sold at the tourist office).
