Ascent of the Cime de Vallos

This is perhaps the easiest peak to reach, with a short walk along a lovely trail. So, you can easily take children there.
Although it's easy, it's spectacular and offers breathtaking 360-degree views. This summit overlooks the Antraigues region to the southwest. It also offers breathtaking views of the highest peaks in the Secret Ardèche region to the north and northeast, such as Rocher de l'Aigle, Champ de Mars, and Roche de Gourdon.
Given the ease of ascent (and therefore return) it is a great sunset spot, especially in spring or autumn when the sun falls slightly to the southwest. It is also very easy to go there in winter to admire the snow-capped peaks of the Hautes Cévennes and the Alps.

Vallos Peak

The shortest route starts from the hamlet the Conchis but be careful, it's a tiny hamlet in which there is no parking space. It may therefore be easier to leave Genestelle a little further down (it only adds 1,5km of walking on a pretty little road).

From the hamlet The Conchis, take a small concrete path that climbs along a high stone wall. A white/yellow marking indicates the start.
Turn immediately right onto the hiking trail which climbs towards the Croix de Vallos
When you reach the Vallos cross, take the path furthest to the left which climbs steeply.
The summit is at the end of this path.

Be careful to close the barriers or fences properly
