The heart of the village, between stones and prayers

Its history begins in the 8th century , around a priory that became the heart of a peaceful village. Strolling along the main street, you step back in time: old houses, gently sloping cobbled streets, and a 17th-century neo-Romanesque church . A church unlike any other, housing rare, listed frescoes that still resonate beneath the vaults like a well-kept secret.

Water as a common thread

In Saint-Andéol-de-Vals, water is everywhere . It meanders, it sings, it sculpts. The alluvial rivers , the narrow gorges , the waterfalls , everything here invites contemplation… or a swim!

Among the places not to be missed:

  • A multitude of renovated Romanesque bridges, which weave an ideal mesh for the hikes.
  • La Devil's Armchair waterfall, with a name as intriguing as its shape.
  • Le Figeyre Bridge, old stone companion, perfect for a picnic break by the water.

A life-size playground

Here, marked trails wind through chestnut groves, cultivated terraces, vaulted fountains, old wash houses, and frozen basalt flows. We walk, we observe, we marvel. We might come across a shy roe deer, a red kite, or a marigold in full flight...

Welcome to the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Natural Park, a protected, vibrant, and deeply rooted territory.
