Environmental, social and societal commitments of the Tourist Office

The Aubenas–Vals–Antraigues Tourist Office, an association founded in 2005 with a collegial governance structure that includes tourism stakeholders, institutions, and civil society, places Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the heart of its activities. This approach reflects the desire to reconcile tourism development, resource preservation, and the quality of life for local residents.

A mission dedicated to sustainable tourism

As a key player in the tourism development of the Aubenas Basin, the Tourist Office helps to generate economic benefits for all 28 municipalities while supporting local stakeholders (artisans, producers, service providers).
It acts as a “destination manager”, structuring a more sustainable tourism offer, better distributed across the territory and respectful of natural resources and landscapes.
In this logic, it participates in the "Ardèche Secrète" brand strategy by guaranteeing consistency between the destination promise and a responsible, qualitative and controlled experience.

A concrete environmental commitment

The Tourist Office is implementing concrete actions to reduce its daily environmental impact:

reduction in energy, water and paper consumption,
limiting printing and digital sobriety,
promotion of soft mobility (cycling, walking, carpooling),
promoting short supply chains, sustainable routes and committed partners
development of responsible communication and eco-designed management of digital tools,
sorting and waste reduction across all sites.

These actions are accompanied by raising awareness among teams and partners about eco-friendly practices and sustainable tourism.

A social and human commitment

The Tourist Office is strengthening its role as a local service provider by transforming its reception areas into "Leisure Counters," accessible to both visitors and residents. This approach promotes inclusion, access to information, and social cohesion within the community.
It also values local actors, supports employment and encourages responsible practices internally, particularly through quality of working life (QWL), listening to teams and continuous training.

Responsible and shared governance

The association structure guarantees open and collaborative governance, involving elected officials, professionals and local stakeholders.
This organization promotes dialogue, cooperation and the territorial anchoring of decisions.
The CSR approach is managed through a structured action plan (2025–2027), monitoring indicators and continuous improvement, integrating environment, professional practices, ethics and well-being at work.

A common ambition

Through this comprehensive commitment, the Aubenas–Vals–Antraigues Tourist Office affirms its desire to contribute to tourism:

more sustainable and responsible
more environmentally friendly,
more united and inclusive,
and fully rooted in its territory.

This dynamic aims to make the Aubenas Basin an attractive, balanced and exemplary destination, serving both its inhabitants and its visitors.
